Berlinette starter help?

I have a Berlinette which I swapped a v8 engine in. The starter that I have to buy now needs to work with this v6 model yet bolt up to my SB engine.
My question is: Does anyone know if the Berlinette came with 168 tooth or 153? It's 1986. I've been reading around online and in my haynes manual, no real definite answer. Don't want to buy this thing online and have it not line up right.

Re: Berlinette starter help?

You're in the wrong forum for this, but I will say you need the starter that goes with the engine. That V6 starter won't bolt up, no matter what you do.

Re: Berlinette starter help?

And if you swapped a v8, you SHOULD have swapped the transmission in which case it doesn't matter how many teeth are on the v6, that being said I don't offhand know how many teeth are on either flywheel/flexplate.
