when I shut off the engine then wait about 10-15 minutes to start it up, it will be hard to start, run rough and try to die if I press on the gas. After running for about 5-10 minutes it seems to run okay again. The engine will throw a 33 - MAP during this rough running period. Any ideas - engine rebuilt, all vucuum lines now in the correct locations, new EGR and coolant temp sensor. Mike

Tried but had to put the old one back in since it made it worse. The MAP is reading the result of the problem - I don't think it is the problem. A local garage thinks I have a vacuum leak. He suggested spraying carb cleaner around top of engine and watching for the mist being sucked into the engine and the engine reving up. Sounds a little dangerous - spraying flammable liquid around a hot engine. Has anyone tried this approach to locating a vacuum leak. Mike

flammable to an open flame i spray starter fluid because the motor will rev up if it sucks it in.

check to see if u have vacuum to your map sensor. if there is no vacuum to your map check for leaks on you like to the manifold with brake clean.
