lets talk starters

i have a high torque ministarter left over from my v8 build but

my little 2.8RS needs a starter.

are these the same?


in other words will it work?

Nope. Won't work. The starter frame (where the pinion is mounted) is different between the L4, V6, and V8 engines. I believe that the V8 has straight-across bolts, while the V6 starter has offset bolts.

it could work because my v8 has offset bolts, it just depends on what bolt pattern it has

Not gonna work....

You guys are forgetting that the tooth count on the flywheel/flexplate is different between the V6 and V8's. Can't just swap the flywheel too, because the mounting bolt pattern is different
