Are 3.1 and 2.8 fans compatible?

Engine: 3.1 V6
Are 3.1 and 2.8 fans compatible?
Due to a fire I need a new fan for my 3.1 and I am wondering if the 2.8 and 3.1 fans are the same. Can somebody fill me in?

I'm about 95% sure they are but wait for someone else to chime in...the engines themselves are identical in almost every aspect.

The fans are identical as long as they are electric and there is only one behind the radiator... 3.1 harness plugs into my 2.8 fan just fine.

just get a replacement fan from a parts store should be about 30 bux. easy swap 10 min at the most.

The upper bracket is different, yes, but the lower bracket just needs the rubber insulators moved. But it doesn't sound like he's worried about that (except maybe the upper mount).
