I picked up a hot air buick v6, turbo, computer, etc etc..
Im deciding on what trans to use that would work with the factory crossmember
Will the 700r4 flex plate work with the BOP 3.8 v6 engine? I know I have to buy a trans adapter for the engine.

Congratulations!!
You can use a 700R4 with a trans adapter. Your flexplate will bolt to an aftermarket torque converter, so no worries. The only thing it needs from a computer is the torque converter lockup, which your ecm will provide.
