Check the color of the spark plugs. Black is too rich, bone white is too lean. Either can be caused by a number of things. Is the ECM spitting out a code?

Re: help with 1991 firebird

Is the ECM spitting out a code? What's the fuel pressure (should be between 37 and 47 PSI when the engine is running, and 47 is on the high side). Probably a dumb question, but did you pull all 6 plugs? Were they all black? Also, what color is the spark at one of the plugs? You're looking for a bright white spark. Orange or red spark is an indication that some other part of the ignition system, either the coil, cap/rotor, or wires, need to be replaced.

Re: help with 1991 firebird

I just pulled the # one spark plug.I will check all spark plugs tomorrow. Fuel pressure is at 45. Distributor, spark plug, and, wires are all new. To check codes all i have to do is connect pin A to pin B Two top left ones on the aldl connector right. I will do that tomorrow as well. Thank you.

The ALDL pins A and B are the 2 in the top RIGHT, not the top left.
