And I just found out the headers and y-pipe I had made up are pretty much shot to heck

So I'm just wondering what our options are for the V6's now a days

They also sell coated ones for a couple hundred more.

ok cool thanks for the link

i remember hearing something about that set not having the 02 sensor fitting or something was this ever fixed

if not then i guess it makes no since getting the coated set

what would it cost to have them coated after i have the 02 fitting installed
or was this already solved

There is a O2 bung in the y pipe so I guess they did fix it.

Will those 2.8 headers fit my 3.1? The actual 3.1 headers on summit are for FWD applications.

Re: ok so its been about 8 -9 years now

I think 3.1 had the AIR injection system; the 2.8 headers don't have any ports for that (although you could modify them to take the ports).

The difference between those other two = the engine & cars.. they'd fit the engine but not the car (on Summit's site, click the blue "application" tab).

And yeah on the picture for http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PSM-70-1206 it looks like the header on the left (passenger side) has an EGR fitting. I think the other unresolved issue from all those years ago was that the larger PF52 oil filter doesn't fit anymore, the PF47 does. I thought Pacesetter was going to fix it but apparently when I checked back years later, they hadn't: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/v6/3...y-headers.html

Funny how that was 5 years ago and I still haven't bought the headers

Damn, just can't catch a break for having a V6....I want to get headers so my V6 can breathe easier and go easier. I'm trying to hunt down a Flowmaster Super 44 with the right routing so I can set it up like stock, but so far they are all input on one side and out put on the other, I need the outputs split so I can have duals like I do now. Thats one thing I'm not giving up!

LOL I *thought* your username looked familar! Yeah the car's been sitting, no chance to work on it, the rust just keeps getting worse- still runs great though... one day (hopefully) I'll get back to it. Gotta get a donor car for its body/frame to fix it right. I realized a few weeks ago that I hadn't logged in here in a long time, glad to see the forum's still around. And oh wow, what a flashback (good 'ol CHC)... (laughs) wild times back then at thirdgen For anyone that's curious, just do a search on the V6 forum for CHC .
