My car died out on me for 10mins, then it started running good...umm confused...
Driving back to my gf's house and felt a little hesitation. I would press the gas and the car would die out, let off the gas and it would still run a little bit. Then it just got to the point where I would press the gas and nothing would happen and it would die. If I put the car into neutral the engine would rev fine. Pop it into drive and it would die out.
After dealing with this for 3 blocks the car decided to run perfectly fine. I left it there for the night and drove it home without any problems this morning. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me and I honestly have no idea.
The temp gauge was by the first line. My oil pressure gauge was around 30 but I have noticed it dips down to the first line and sometimes a little bit below that when sitting at a light. I recently did a tune up on the car and changed to thicker oil - 10w40 - but the oil pressure is still the same. I checked the tranny fluid while doing the tune up and noticed it is a bit dark. Dunno if that has something to do with it.
Idea's?

Sounds like FPR or tps to me, maybe o2 or iac sensor, is the SES light on?

It'll occasionally come on but I think thats due to the fact that I have the EGR blocked off. Puttin a new pipe on today.

this might be something to check, I had a '89 grand am that did the same thing, and about a month later it got progressivily worse. after going to several shops, puting a manual switch to run the fuel pump. found out it was the ECM going into "limp in" mode due to a failure of the eprom.
it was the weirdes thing and I when to two shops that claimed the were experts on this

I've been there... Took a while for the random failure to become not-so-random... Turned out the ignition coil was flakey. I had to wait until it finally died before I fixed my absolutely random stalling issues...

How'd you block off the EGR? You won't set an SES code if you blocked off the pipe between the EGR and intake.
You might want to check the codes!
Other than that I'd check the usual suspects, like BackInBlack said, check the spark coil and the rest of the ignition, also check fuel pressure. It's strange that it hasn't happened again.
