This is prolly a stupid question...

Like the title says, but I've been wondering. Is it at all possible to modify the supercharger (M60 right?) from a Gran Prix GTP or a similar car to fit a 2.8 V6? Superchargers from those cars are cheap at the JYs here and there's always one, so I figured I'd at least ask.

There's another guy who just asked the same question. Answer is, if it's from a 3800, unless you want to build your own intake from the bottom up, no.

I read that an M90 off a early 90's T-bird can be modified to work with our V6s quite easily, read that on 60* V6.

Re: This is prolly a stupid question...

the supercharger itself will work fine. It'll work on anything. It's just a matter of being able to build the intake (and other) parts that you'll need to go with it because there's no parts that can be bought and put together to make it a "bolt on".

The tubing is easy, I've got a friend who welds so I can pay him to help. I just gotta get the tubing somewhat cheap. And hope it fits under my stock hood.

Re: This is prolly a stupid question...

I'm not referring to air intake. I'm referring to intake manifold/plenum/runners/... You're first (or probably biggest) obstacle is being able to bolt it to a manifold that'll bolt to your heads (and getting the pulley in line with the others to be able to begin to figure out belt routing to drive the sc). That's why centrifugal superchargers are so popular. They bolt to a bracket and supply compressed air to the factory intake throttlebody and manifold via tubing. That's not the case for most roots type blowers.

Re: This is prolly a stupid question...

im pretty sure the m60 can be remotley mounted and does not need to be bolted to the intake. if it can be u could use it but it would run out of steam very fast those things are typically used on what 2.0L motors right

Re: This is prolly a stupid question...

After some reading the M90 is the way to go. The M62 is a lot more work to make fit with our motors. Also, the M90 can be remotely mounted, I've been reading Pocket's build thread and will be trying the same set-up, but with a V6. He suggested to rebuild one no matter what, so I plan to the kit is only 40 bucks and a M90 from the JY is 50 bucks. The main thing I'm worried about is still using the stock CAI, and tubing costs. Pending how much tubing is, it may sit unfinished for a bit.

They can be remotely mounted, so I would mount it where my AC would be. So that means my AC has to go.
