badist of the bad
Re: badist of the bad
wonder if that would explain the seeming low hp dyno numbers compared to the other guys...the car had to be loosing compression? From what I remember posted here and there the car always had strong TQ, but never hit the HP numbers

Re: badist of the bad
It definitely must have been hurting the HP, but I think the real issue was the tune. It was pig rich. Trueleo supplied a couple of chips, but they were never right (we didn't have the capability to datalog it, so I'm not blaming them). I have offerred to help Redraif get it going again (by email), but I haven't heard anything. I'd love to see what it could really do.

^ His belongs on the list. We need cars that are deserving of the title. Sub-300hp doesn't cut it. I saw your car in hotrod magazine, pretty cool man.

Re: badist of the bad
The event was Sept 09... I drove it the rest of the fall and this spring... I drove up to Milan For a Syclone/Typhoon event and had a exhaust Seat come loose on the #1 Exhaust valve.. I "Carefully" drove back 3.5hrs to home on 5cyl. The heads were used and beat up castings when I bought them.. Champion said they'd last 1 season tops.
I go 3yrs out of them.
I purchased new castings from Champion and sent down all my old parts.. They found that 4 valves were bent.. Not sure how long that had been going on.
It runs stronger now with the new heads and non bent valves.
Not had a chance to go back to the track since.. Might make that 9 second pass on pump gas!
A couple pic's and article.

Re: badist of the bad
Finally found redraif's graph. Sheesh...I knew I remembered seeing some crazy tq numbers... I was considering the Truleo/3.4 for my Fiero and these results always stuck out in my mind... This was the only car I can remember that had "untuned" before and after results w only changing the intake... 35ish ft/lb jump. Seems the hp moved up decent at each rpm point until you reach the higher rpms. No peak increase and no high RPM gain told me I was NOT gonna spend 600.00 for pitiful top end power... Esp when folks were doing the dohc swaps... and the hybrid swaps.... much better results for the $ IMO.

Re: badist of the bad
I no longer have the car, but I had a decent 3.4. I had posted some desktop dyno numbers. I think it was around the 180hp mark? The gutted v6 seemed faster then the v8 I have now thats fully loaded.
