More camshaft.

I found a custom compcams grind cam@
  • Duration (Intake/Exhaust): 226°/236° @ .050"
  • Valve Lift (w/1.5 Rocker): .463"/.474"
  • Lobe Sep. Angle: 112°
Im running and edelbrock 3790 cam now( http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ED...5&autoview=sku ). Would the custom be too much for a untuned ecm? I'm running a 3.4 with 3.4l injectors, 1.6 rockers and a AFPR. I want more torque and midrange power.

Re: More camshaft.

My motor idles like crap below 800rpm and that one has more duration than I'm running. But mine's on a 115 lsa so that one will be alot more manageable. 1.5 rockers would probably give you better low to mid torq.

Would my stock ECM work okay with it?

Exhaust Duration at 050 inch Lift 214
Duration at 050 inch Lift 204 int./214 exh.
Advertised Intake Duration 278

Intake Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio 0.420 in.
Exhaust Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio 0.443 in.
Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio 0.420 int./0.443 exh.
Lobe Separation (degrees) 112

and 1.6 ratio rockers, will the valves kiss stock pistons?

Re: More camshaft.

I need specifics on what you're building, but I really doubt it.

Re: More camshaft.

I'm just looking for more n/a non-hybrid hp. I've come to the realization i will be losing low end torque so I'm just looking for a larger cam then the one I have. I also already have 1.6 ratio rockers.

Re: More camshaft.

the closer u can get .500 or above lift the better the iron head flow jumps up considerably after 400 lift. while its mid lift numbers that m,atter the most going to a cam with .515 lift will give u a decent gain over a similar cam with only .430 lift

Do you have any high lift cams in mind?
