ok i have an 87 firebird 2.8l automatic trans i have no idea whats wrong with it when i turn the key the light on the dash come on but other than that nothing doesnt even atempt 2 start no sounds or anything like a week b4 it stopped running completely it would do this same thing but if i left it alone for a bit it would start running again weve replaced the starter the ignition module ignition coil battery and checked all the fuses still no change my uncle is thinking it may e the neutral safety switch but i have no idea do any of u guys have any idea what it may be?

Is it an auto? I'd guess your last guess is a real good one. When the neutral safety switch is not functioning, it's like the whole starting system is dead.
Once you find your way to the neutral safety switch (in the center console), disconnect it and re-connect it. The car might start. I've had the wiring to the switch be just loose enough to kill the starting function. Try that next.

IIRC there is a fused link for the starter. I think its along the pass side frame rail before the cable drops to the starter.
