turn signal lever
turn signal lever
Hey guys, for the past year or so my brights haven't worked not because I don't have them but because the lever won't pull to anymore. What's weird is that I can still click it up or down to work the turn signals as normal but it won't click towards me to turn on brights so I bought a new lever. Is this all I need to fix this problem or do I need like an internal switch in the steering column to fix this?

Guys, the headlight dimmer switch is adjustable. Loosen the 2 bolts and slide it towards the driver's seat a bit. Either that or the rod became bent somehow.

Re: turn signal lever
The previous owner somehow managed to break the switch inside. Like Mav said, 2 bolts, 5 minutes, and $15 for a new switch from rockauto and I was done.

Oh, and the plastic link that the wiper switch presses against in the column housing could also be broken. And that SOB is a real PITA to get at and in place properly.

Re: turn signal lever
Does anyone have a pic of that little plastic piece for the turn signal? I replaced my turn signal lever and that little piece fell out and I can not get that thing back in for the life of me! Anyone have any tips on how to hold it in place?

Re: turn signal lever
There is a wide part shaped like a P on the end, should go in upside down and against the wiper switch arm (yes, the lever actually goes into the wiper switch, which is connected to the signal switch by yet another lever to engage the turn signals) which will push the black POS to engage the headlight dimmer switch. The curved end of the black part will have the longest part of it pointing down towards the floor. You've got to twist and maneuver and curse the thing into position, but it will stay once it's there.
