headers and y-pipe installed.

well the system is totally installed. The ypipe has a few tricky bends , so I say go to a good muffler shop to have it done. The exhaust sounds deeper and I can feel a big improvment in power..........the car feelslike it pulls harder and longer then before. It also feels like it isnt straining itself when yo mash the gas, it just seems to pull smoothly. All in all I must say , if you have a cam, to do this mod

Where and how do you do this?? Ive seen alot of V6ers doing custom headers and ypipes. But I dont know how you do it. Who do you go to? And how much does it cost? And is it worth it? Does your car sound like a V8? And finally why do you say get a cam first?

Do headers with a cam cuz a cam makes ur exhaust and intake open farther and for longer periods of time (or how i was taught) and the headers let your engine breath better...

Yes... Throw that car on a lift, and get some pics of that custom Y-pipe for all of us to see!

And definately get some 1/4 mile times with that new exhaust setup... Here's to 15's or better!

thanks guys. And yes I have a Crane compucam 2030. I felt that since I had my custom intake on and the cam, the headers would uncork everything. It sounds like a V8 at low RPM;s but it still sounds sixish at high RPM's, but hey, its a v6 and I;m proud of it. I'll get some pics up soon and I'll probably write everything down that I did, so you guys can figure out if you wanna try it or not. Its a PITA thats for sure!

I'd say write up an entire tech article and submit it. Not to sound too proud of it, but everyone on this board has been looking for headers forever. They shoudl accept it and put it up on the main tech section so everyone can get all the details (and you don't have to get pestered for them all the time. )

Hey 3.1Firebird, was there a provision for the EGR valve on the passenger side header? What about AIR tubes? I don't hae an AIR pump (from the factory that way)... so I guess if there are, I'd hae to figure out a way to close them off.
