Tranny Mount???
last wwek i hit a dip really hard and saw sparks fly out from behindme.. Lately i notice when i go to accelerate at half throtle i hear somethin pop near my tranny it sounds liek the tranny mount but im not sure lasttime it went it was loud and jerked the whole car during shifts... How can i go about finding out about if it is that and also how do u go about replaceing it with it is... if it is im gona use polyurthane ones insted of the crappy rubber ones

Take a crow bar of some sort, jack the car up and insert the bar in between the tranny and the crossmember. If you see the chunk of rubber seperate at any spot than it is shot. Also check and see if there are any cracks. Replacing is easy, 4 bolts that hold on crossmember, 2 bolts from member to mount and 1 or 2 bolts to the tranny. when you tighten it, torque them all to 35 ft lbs. Also if they are not coming off easy. I would suggest heating them up with a torch. I busted one of my crossmember bolts in half, it cost me 50 bucks to have it taken out. That may or may not happen to you.

If you have a 5-speed v6, be prepared to pay like 150 for a mount.
Unless, you can find a v-8 crossmember cheap and go buy the mount for a v8 auto, that was cheaper in my case and seemed to work perfectly.
Oh, also, a similar sound happened to me when i knocked my torque arm loose at the trannie....sounded like a hammer under there banging around when i would accelerate.

150 for a tranny mount? christ i can get a complete steel mount set (motor and trans mounts) for not even half of that.. chances are if your hearing that noise its broken, jack the car up, and put another jack on the bottom of the tranny (not the pan) and jack it up a tiny bit to get the mount off.. two bolts hold it to the tranny, and theres a stud on it that goes thru the crossmember if i remember correctly...

Take a crow bar and put it above the crossmember, but under the tranny. now pry up an the transmission and look at the mount at the same time to see if the rubber is torn or coming apart.

Now if this process doesn't work, (the crowbar) then take the cross member off.
Just put a jack under tranny, then jack it up until it looks like weight is taken off the mount. then undo the 4 crossmember bolts. And then you can see the mount, and be able to tell, if it is torn or cracked i would suggest replacing it. I would get a polyurethene too.

you needent remove the crossmember to replace the mount.. yes, the cross member runs from either side of the unibody directally under the tranny, where is runs under the tailshaft there is your mount.. just jack up the tranny a bit and look at the mount, its easy to tell.. as far as your oil pressure going up after you hit that bump, im not sure, but even if you dented your oil pan, that wouldnt make the pressure go up.. although all i could think of is you stired up some crud with the bump and it got caught in your filter and made the pressure go up.. (damn i forget if the sender for the gauge is before or aft of the filter)
