Power Loss @ 3500 RPMS??

Hi, when ever I "hit" the gas on the red light my camaro jumps of the line but sometimes when its starts to hit the 3500 RPM range I hear like a loud explosion per say, its as if a balloon pops inside the engine or the exhaust then all of a sudden my RPM's go down to around 1500 and all my power got lost. I dont really know what could be the problem. I already replaced the oil, air filters, and am about o replace the spark plugs, any suggestions?thanks!

Re: Power Loss @ 3500 RPMS??

i had that problem with mine, we hooked my car up to a fuel pressure gauge and put it though the pass window and drove around while the passenger ooked at the pressure gauge, when we tryed to accelerate the fuel pressure wouldnt maintain itsself and it would drop to 20, the car had less power, it could barely do a burnout and it usually stalled out after driving it for 30 mins, it turned out that the fueltank was rusted inside so we bought a new fueltank and put in a new fuelpump while we were at it, we also cleaned out the fuel lines and replaced the fuel filter, all of my cars power came back and i could peel out easily in my car now, so it can be a dying fuelpump/clogged fuel filter
