How much nitrous on my 2.8?

Hey

I am thinking about getting a Nitrous system for my 85 2.8 camaro and was just wondering what is the safe hp increase limit and how much will it take off my 0-60 and 1/4 mile times? The engine is completley stock.

Thanks for the help

First off, how many miles are on the engine. I don't think I'd put NO2 on my 2.8 and especially not if it's got a lot of miles. I heard some where that the recommened shot of NO2 for the 2.8 is b/w 50 and 75. I also heard that every 10 hp takes .1 off your 0-60 or 1/4 mile. But I'd never put it on my car, just my 2 cents.

You'd probably be better off asking the guys at NOS (Nitrous Oxide Systems). Their webpage is http://www.nosnitrous.com if you want to get in touch with 'em.

I like that the NOS brand uses the "dry" method; no fuel is injected. Brands like NX (Nitrous Express) inject fuel with the nitrous, and that can cause a backfire that would blow the top of your motor off.

Ihave looked into this big time and if all goes well for xmass I wil have it.. First make sure you have a solid ignition system.. Good wires, new plug, new coil, and new fuel filter...

Then we can safely run up to 90 HP on a stock motor accoring to the tech guys at NOS. 75HP is recommended though...
