i bought an Accel Super coil, which does the same thing, i haven't put it on yet because it's gonna be a B*tch to mount, or find a place to mount it. I've heard, mounting is of course the most difficult thing to do with these coils the actual instilation should be simple, just plug in one wire to your existing harness, and then put on a coil wire cap that goes to your distributor and you're done. Also, you might want to upgrade your sparkplug wire size to 8mm, or 8.5-8.8mm to handle the extra power of the coil, unless you want to raise the hood and find all your wires melted together.

How much did it run you?
If I were to buy one where would I go and what would I ask for?

MSD is like 29 or 39.99.. I did it with my Accel wire at the time and thecar seemed to rev faster and I was happy about that.. 7HP I doubt, but it will come to life faster so that is worth happiness...

MHugo, I get all my stuff through Summit Racing. Their phone # is 1-800-230-3030, they have a voice-mail system where you can leave your address for a free catalog. They also have a website at http://www.summitracing.com . I love their customer service, their prices are the cheapest, I get my stuff in two days, and shipping is free!

I think FASTRS is talking about Accel's #140008 Supercoil, that comes with a wiring harness for GM. MSD's GM Blaster Coil replaces your original coil, and fits in the stock location. I had the Supercoil, I think it was $45 from Summit, and yeah, it was a pain to mount. I had to fabricate a bracket for it so it would look nice.

And hey, ask away, that's why we're here! Welcome to the v6 board!

Well, I think the coils is easy to do.. An ignition add on box is not hard, but can take time....

Oops, sorry, FastRS, I got the names confused, I should've said "85f-bird" with the Accel coil.

The hardest part of installing my MSD GM Blaster Coil was finding a replacement bolt for the one I dropped and could never find. It's insanely easy and a good replacement for the stock coil. When I did my tune up, which included the MSD coil, 8MM wires, Accel cap & rotor, new O2 sensor, Rapid Fire plugs, and some other stuff I went from 12-13 MPG to around 20-22 MPG. Not half bad IMHO. And now that I've found that my ignition module was bad, I just might be getting even better mileage!!
