2.8 to 3.8 can it be done

I'v got an 84 Berlinetta that he 2.8 has some issues so if I am going to have to pull it anyway i want to go ahead and drop a 3.8 or would 3.4 be easier and cheaper? I want something that i can do some mods with like a turbo or superchargers. Found a lot of 3.4's and some 3.8's? Does year mold make a big diffrence? I want to keep it carburated but im willing to change manifolds out if that is al lit takes? Thanks for any help.

3.4 will definitely be easier an likely cheaper, since it's shares many of the same parts an mounting with the 2.8L It basically becomes a re move an replace deal.

The 3.8 is much more work and most people that have one it, in the end, say it's not worth it. There are a few threads on the subject.

Any engine can have turbos or modifications added to them.

This is where you need to use the search engine....

The 3.4 swap has been done in a lot of ways.

You can turbocharge a carburated engine, but it is MUCH easier to turbocharge an EFI engine.
