Guess what I just ordered today....w/n

I finally got of my but to finally order the things that I wanted for my Firebird. I called Summit Racing and ordered the Jet chip, Jet low degree thermostat, Redlines Differential fluid, a 2.5" high flow CAT from Catco, and the B&M console megashifter. I'm so stoked about this.
Here is the coolest part. My girlfriend told me to order the B&M console megashifter and I looked at her funny and asked her why. She then told me that it would be her X-mas gift from her to me and she would pay me for it. THis is going to be one bitchin X-mas. I have to wait on the chip & the thermo for about 1.5 weeks b/c it is not a regularly stocked item but I should receive the other things by Friday & I should get the headers by then too. Later guys

Sounds nice.. Syxx had the B&M shifter and it was a pain to get working right with his tranny.. It was like he had park or he started in reverse so I hope by now almost a year later he got it cleared up, but I he has told me he would like to get rid of it.. Just read the directions on it before ya begin and plan for double the estimated install time...

I locked the post. I am glad to hear that he is getting all of that stuff for his ride but I didn't see anything technical in it. I locked it so everyone could still see everything that he is getting opposed to deleting it but since it is unlocked I will leave it alone.

I saw some tech

Mike, definately read & re-read those B&M Megashifter instructions. I installed it without any problems, but I've heard of other people fighting the thing. I bought the Radio Shack relay (they give a part # in the instructions) for controlling an RPM-drop computer function... if you don't do that, your car just rev's higher in neutral/park- no big deal.

The part most people mess up is adjusting the swivel to the tranny shift lever. (You'll find out what I mean when you read the instructions, heh heh..) It's not a hard part, but it's a pain in the butt. I did mine following the instructions, checked it as per the instructions (testing the swivel to the tranny shift lever for each gear), and then checked it twice more.

Is that 2.5" high flow cat a bolt-in?

Yup it's a universal bolt on CAT. If for some reason that gets in the way I'll just have them hop off the ends and have it welded on. Why do you ask? Later

Do you have the part # handy? I asked because I bought a "products for power" convertor 3 years back that was a direct bolt-on... and I've only seen one other guy that had it. I didn't know if anybody made direct bolt-on units anymore, that's great that they do!

Oh wait "universal" bolt on? Does that mean "universal" for f-bodies, or universal for all cars?

From what the tech at Summit was telling me it was a universal bolt on CAT for F-bodies. The part number is CTO-6906. I thought that I got it for pretty cheap. Hopefully the shifter, rear end oil & CAT should be in tomorrow. I will also say that every person at Summit that I have talked to have been really helpful and nice. Later guys
