cool thing if your car gets stolen
cool thing if your car gets stolen
no i dont mean its a cool thing if your car gets stolen, i watching this crime thingy on TLC(yah..yah) and they were showing how cops would set up sting ops for car theifs by placing pin hole cameras on cars like in the air conditioning ducts facing toward the drivers seat so when somebody stole the car it would catch them on tape and they also had the car set up so that it would kill the car and lock the doors 15 seconds after the car was activated. I thought this was the coolest sh!+!! does anybody know how much something like this would run?? hit me back..

And ur gonna spend time running new film after film and then no one is gonna mess with ur car. Now if u had an escort then i would say thats a good idea cause thos resale WELL since they r know for their awsome 1/4 times.

There's also a slick device (made by Motorola? I forget, it came out a while ago) that would let you call your car with any phone, cell or landline, and do things to it. You could lock/unlock the doors, play with the windows, start it, or (most fun) kill the motor if someone stole it.

Ok, I was thinking the exact same thing after my car got stolen. I guess I'm showing my computer geek/electrical engineer (if I ever graduate
)side here, but this would be cool:
Have a motion sensor that would only run the camera when someone got in the car.
Have a camera in the car that would transmit the image so you could watch it remotely.
When somebody steals it, remotely shut off the engine and lock the doors.
Oh yeah, did I mention the drivers seat is set up to shock the guy

All on TV... maybe even live on the Net..
And hey, TLC is a good channel. Junkyard Wars is one of the best shows on TV.
Alex
PS. Monkie, quit ragging on Kyle, it's getting real boring.

WEll guys I hate to tell you but injuring a Criminal that tposes no bodily harm is Illegal. Ain't that some sh|t. I realize no body wants to get their car stolen and would be pissed off tremedously if it happened and want to kill the guy. Though could you imagin how much all this gagitry would cost. I would say it would be worth it if you had say a Lambo or a Porsche (or Monkies one of a kind 3.1 super car), but I don't think that would be the best investment for our cars. Our cars aren't in a class to where people will do anything to get one, they are plentyful enough that anything that makes it hard to steal will usually make them move on. I would say for our cars just get a Club. Those things do make a car un-steerable and they can be cut off with a proper blade, but it takes a long time.
Yes it would be cool to have all of this stuff, but I don't think its worth the price if there is another alternative
I have seen one of those shows where they were doing those stings and I love the look on the Thief's face when the car shuts down and the doors lock. Though I think if they had a few more minutes they would just break the windos and climb out. How do those locks work anyway. Are they just electronic and they disable the inside mechanism. What if say they rip the lock out like what the did to my car to get in, Will it still lock?

welp im back, the vacation to indy was nice.. anyway.. a good alarm with battery backup and a exterior microwave (motion) sensor should do the trick.. since the alarm will go off before they even touch the car..

yup, thats why my property is properly posted that trespassers may be shot at on site.. perfectally legal..
alas the club is a joke.. spray it down with some freon or even a can of 40 below (available at most electronics stores), and smack it with a hammer.. shatters like nothing...

Really I was not aware that it would get that brittle. THough my point is that it still makes it tougher so they will probably go on. Have you ever done this to a club. I just dont see you being able to do that. I am going to have to ry it
actually one of the best cheapest things for theft protection that i saw was on this infomercial called the AutoLock, it goes on the brake so if someone tries to steal your car first of all they couldnt start it if it was a manual and if they actually did start it they wouldnt be able to brake, its even bullet proof (watch out for those car thieves who use guns to break into cars)
