what type of car was the mclarin setup on, was it a F-body or like a grand prix or grand am, if it was one of the two latter than the motor's turned side ways, and the manifolds would be different than the one's on our cars.

those were on the (I wanna say...) '89 and '90 grand prixs... McClaren is the name BTW these GP's had GTP style GFX w/ a 88-90 nose. they had a 3.1 in them, and ran low 15's stock. one would look like this

the gn has a 90* v6, and we have 60* v6's. they have 3.8 liter motors (238 cid), and we have 2.8 (173) and 3.1 (191) so my guess it that you'd just have to fab your own manifolds/headers. remember they have to be from a 60* RWD v6. there really aren't a bunch of them. turbo 3.1 or 2.8 would look cool though. I'm a diehard v6 guy, but still, the best bet for a a fast f-body would be to buy a v8 or a tta. too much work to swap motors over.

oh BTW the turbo grand prix's weren't all that fast (stock). the 3.4 dohc, that was in the grand prix's later on like 93-97 could run w/ them and put out nearly identical if not better numbers. only prob was that th emotors were real racy/performance oriented to the point that they sacrificed reliability and longevity. My ma's '96 monte carlo z/34 has the 3.4 and w/ under 100,000 on her, she's ready to sell it for a new Grand Prix GTP. Because the tranny leaks, and the motor burns/leaks oil.

97 GPs had 3.8L in them. That was the first yeat of the New style. My mom has a Black one and my Brother use to have a Emaerlad Green GTP, damn that thing was sweet.
