My exhaust finally broke in and it sounds sweet. It purrs like a kitten...well, a big kitten. Anyways, does everyone's temp kinda go up when sitting at idle for a while, or is this just me?

First off, your temp shouldnt go up when u are at a stop! The chip should turn on the fans, to keep it cool!!

I don't mean when I'm at a light or anything.....I mean like when you stop @ your girlfriend's house to pick her up and you leave your car running for a few outside. It only raises to about 220, I just didn't know if this was normal or not.

 

well before i answer think about it. The radiator uses air to cool it ..so when u drive ur making wind against the radiator which in turn cools the coolant. Now when u arent moving there isnt anything cooling it until the fans turn on and suck air through the radiator. SO its normal.

mine aways used to go up at idle... For the longest timei thoght i had a bad temp guage but it really was reading right it get right below 250 so i got a switch that turns it on when the car reached 200 and then took it out when i got my fast chip

 

its pretty normal for our cars to idle hot, especally in the summer, but it wouldnt hurt to check for leaves and crud built up in front of the rad..

 

No, it is not just you I have prolbem with it I ran a switch to my fan to run it when I want that did the trick
