forced-air induction

I had a dream about this last night and am wondering if it would work. I took a heater blower put it in the airway and hooked a switch to it to make a forced-air induction system. I'm wondering if anybody has tried anything like this and if you think it would work.

Good idea, but also a bad one. The blower motor will be too much of a restriction when the motor's revving up high. That's why the closest we get to forced air induction is a ram-air type of intake; where the incoming air tubing is re-done to point "straight" forward. As the car picks up speed, air is "rammed" into the intake.

That might be a good test vehicle to see if that will work.

I have an idea take an aircompressor for an airhorn and hook it into your intake hose and have it on a button so when you push it it blows air into the engine

I'm no physicist, but doesn't the energy to give the air momentum have to come from somewhere, thus taking away from the enrgy thats giving your engine power??

Hey hey hey.. tom, don't shoot him down quite that quickly =P.. there's a way around the whole restriction bit.. put a bypass airway around the blower and use a one-way valve in it.. blower producing *cough*boost*cough*not much*cough*, pressure in intake closes valve.. intake sucking more than blower producing, sucks valve open, presto.. mind you this concept thus defeats any attempts at gaining high-end boost.. but for s&g it'd be interesting to see what could be done... in fact I think I'm going to make a setup and see what happens..

You're right; after re-reading my message, it seemed like I was "talking" in a condescending tone; that's not how I meant it. Oh well. I guess I need to throw more of these around! Let us know if you try that setup.
