I don't know if anyone makes springs for the v6... I seem to remember that there was a set by Suspension Techniques... May still exist.

You could always use the rear lowering springs - since the rear is the same weight, regardless of engine, and just use drop spindles. I don't know if this would have the same effect as quality lowering springs on handling.

I tried 3 sets of coil springs (orig. and after market) for the front cause one broke, but the bird was always higher than before, finaly I cut one ring off, headed and bent the end so it fits in the dome exactly.

I have lowered my Firebird. The front has drop spindels and 1 coil cut of the spring. The rear end springs have been cut 2 inches.
It has a nice stance. I have about 1/4 inch clearence in the front. And about 3/4 inch in the rear. If you do this I would suggest upgrade your struts and shocks. And hammer down the sheet metal under the fender well in the front. Looks Good !

sprint coils makes a set of coils specifically for the v6, and it will drop you 1.75 front 1.5 back for an agressive stance. if you were to use the v8 application, your 6 would look like a monster truck, trust me, i have made that mistake before. good luck on the drop.

What about using the springs that were made for the 4 banger? I'd assume that this would lower your car... the 2.5L weighs less than the V6. I heard that's what some V8 guys do when they want to lower their car.

I'm curious about that as well but wouldn't they almost virtually use the same spring b/c a 2.5L & a 2.8L aren't that far off w/ one another as weight goes, I wouldn't think. Can someone clarify this?

mike there would be some difference when the coils settled out, but nothing that anyone would notice. the rear end would still settle down 1.50 and the fron would settle a little less than 1.75 in. but don't use the v8 option, you will ride like a 4x4. what car has a 2.5?

The other guy was referring to the old dark days of the first 3rd generation F-bodies when they came out w/ the old 4 cylinder 2.5L. This thing was dog a$$ slow.
