Today I finally got everything to work as it should with my car. I have had this car for almost a year and a half, and it hasn't run right the whole time. If it wasn't an ignition problem it was idling too high. But today I finished putting it back together, and after a timing adjustment it idled right at 750. The car has never idled below 1500!. I took it for a spin and it ran beautifully. Words can't express how stoked I am. I would like to thank everyone who helped me with any of the numerous problems i've had.

Sweet! What did it take to fix the car? Last I remembered your plugs were oily; did you rebuild the motor?

I don't know a whole heck of a lot about cars. Everything I do know I have learned from you guys or by just trying to do it myself. So I told someone about my plugs and he said I needed new heads or possibly a rebuild. Hence my post on oily plugs. However when I explained my situation fully on the tech/engine board I was told that the oil was probably from leaky valve cover gaskets. What I didn't mention in my oily plugs post on this board was that the oil was on the plug wire side of the plugs. To cut it short I didn't explain my problem to you guys fully. Sorry. So I guess i'll be hanging on to the 2.8 a little longer.

so dude, u mean that your oil was hanging over say, the wire itself, or even the outside of the housing that connects to the spark plug, yeah, that sounds like an external leak somewhere, and most likely is coming from the valve covers, or head assembly area. Thanx for the completed info. good luck on the fix, and it should be cheaper than a new block.
