Tranny Mount...again
Tranny Mount...again
I believe my transmission mount is broken, AGAIN. What could keep causing them to break?

First, I'd check the engine mounts to make sure they are tight and solid, to prevent excessive rocking. Next, check overall alignment, from the engine to the rear axle. Don't forget to check the pinion angle. If all of these look good, check out your sig. Driving hard breaks things. Unavoidable. No lecture or moral judgement. Drive as you like, but if you race a lot and push your ride all the time, accept that things are going to break.
What would cause your mounts to break? Driving, of course! Seriously, you don't even have to be mean to it, and you'll break a tranny mount pretty quickly. I recommend Energy Suspension Polyurethane mounts. $20, Summit, delivered within a week, and never have to buy another in your life. They're very tight and a pain to put in compared to the stock ones (so set aside some extra time, I got in deep crap with my woman cause I thought it'd be a fifteen minute job like the stock one).

I agree with Reno, get the ES trans mount. I went through two stock ones in three years before buying the ES poly one from Summit; now, this ES one has lasted me 4 years! Well worth the $25.
Mine went in with no problems. If your trans has shifted a bit in relation to the crossmember, then the bolts will be tight. It's not so much dependant on the mount, but on the car it goes into.
