10W30, 10W40, whatever - depends on your climate more than the motor.
At least 4 qts, maybe 5. Dump in 4, start car, run it for 1 minute, then shut off (this fills the filter). wait 10 minutes, read dipstick - probably need another added.

The only stupid questions are ones we don't ask. Gm specs out the oil as 5w30 from the factory. The capacity is 4 quarts using the short oil filter. however, you can use the longer AC PF52 oil fliter and that will increase the capacity to 4.5 quarts. 10w30 works well too. Capacities can be found in shop manuals such as Haynes or Chilton's, or the Factory service manual.
