Fuel Injectors

After a long stint sitting I got my plenum Powder coated and it looks great. I went to reassemble everything and tried to get it running. Well unless it was at WOT it would not run.. I pulled the plugs and they were in poor shape, so I tossed new ones in and now it runs at 3500 and above but won't idle.. It seems like it is missing, but I think I connected the wrong injeco0trs to the wrong places... Anyone know the how I can verify I have the right injecotrs corrected in the right places?

Well the TPI is set up nicely for this problem, all the injector plug ins are just about the exact length to the injector it plugs into. I would assume yours is the same (2.8 or 3.1 V6 I assume) I would not think this is your problem, if it was with port fuel injection It wouldn't run hardley at all. If any, I would think it wouldn't at all.
So let think in other areas, bad fuel pressure, bad fuel pump, bad ignion module?
What all did you remove from the car. Back track a little and check all you connections VS. a Haynes manual or somethin similar.
Hope this helps

the injector wiring shouldn't matter since the MPFI system is batch fire. Just make sure you have the wires running to the right and left banks and it should be fine. Check a manual for exact info.

I had the exact same problem when I painted my plenum and TB with high temp paint. If you didn't have anythign done to your TB, then I'm way off, but otherwise, check around the plate, some of the coating built up and won't let air through. I took a file to mine, got the paint off and widened it up ever so slightly. Nixed the problem completely though.

It is a 2.8, the plenum is clear as I grounded it to match the gasket perfectly... I removed the upper and lower plenum and had it powder coated. Reassembled it and it has run like sh@* and won't idle, but will run at RPMS.. I plan to replace the wires for the heack of it and the cap and rotor, but all those were fine before I removed the plenum..... The injectors were out of the car could they now be bad??? How is that possible?

When I go home tonight, I'll look at my spare MPFI injector harness. Like the one on my car, I marked the connectors for each injector. I think there's different wire colors for each connector- anyhow, I'll have it for you tonight.

When I did my swap, I marked each injector wire.
When I reassembled, all the wires literally fell into the proper position, too.
Keep looking you have a VACUUM LEAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those hoses are aBITCH to keep from cracking!!
I know, I spent most of my time, hooking up/repairing plastic hose lines.

Brian, here's the wire colors:

Passenger-side bank (1,3,5) = black/purple & black

Drivers-side bank (2,4,6) = black/green & black/white

I think KED's got the right idea for a vacuum leak. I cracked one of my hard plastic vacuum lines when I did my injectors; I replaced them with regular 'ol vacuum/winshield-washer hose.

Also, after pulling & reinstalling injectors, the fuel rail has to bleed out air. This usually takes a couple pump-primes (key off, key on, wait 3 seconds, key off, wait 30 seconds, key on, ...)- but it sounds like you've run the motor enough to take care of that. Also did you maybe miss an o-ring on a hard fuel line, and fuel's dripping out somewhere un-noticable?
