Yup, I was going out to get a CD and on my way home this red Firebird (prolly a 86 or so) pulled next to me in the other lane and slowed down real quick and then punched it. So the next light caught him and I was just thinking {this is gonna be fun}. So light goes green. I pull off like Im not trying. He stayed right next to me waiting on my move. So all the sudden I hear his old rusted out exhaust get REALLY loud. So he is pulling some and I only got about half throttle pressed and we are going about 30mph and Im in 3rd. So I decide thats enough and drop it into 2nd and pull on this guy hard. I pass him and about 3 car lengths in front of him I start to let off. And he gives me a thumbs up at the next light. So good race and one more kill.

i dunno monkie, I've learned that Kills are when you beat a snobby a$$hole in a race, but "good races" are the one's that you get a thumbs up on..... I raced a '92 3.1 rs the other day, I won, but I don't consider it a "kill" or even much of a "win" since we both gave the thumbs up... You had a good "race" though. To be technical, do you believe that the slightly lower powerband of the 3.1 helps it to get up and go better?

 

I dunno bout Monkie, but mine feels like it pulls, then dies.....OH, and after about 4600 RPM, forget about it....

No, actually mine kinda sucks up to 40 mph then after that watch out it FLYS! After about 4,000RPMs in 3rd the 5mphs hit very fast. But yea, bring your self on. Ill race ya!

But SlowCamaro88SC you're right. It wasnt a kill. Only a good race. I hated to actually beat him because I saw the look in his eyes and he wanted to beat my baby soooo bad! I ALMOST let him. But Im glad no hard feelings were there!
