log style single turbo header
i came across the bbs design for the 3.1, how does it connect to the drivers side manifold and exhaust. Any pictures? can't find any. i just wanna do a basic cheap as possible turbo setup and reach 200rwhp. Ideas?

Re: log style single turbo header
there is nothing wrong with a log header infact on pilsburys car i did a log heade rong the passenger side , with a mid lenght regular header on the driver side.
to go ultra cheap just use the stock manifold on the driver side
the hardest part of fabbing up the log is the merge for the crossover pipe
let me dig up some pics of the stuff i built for pilsburys car
btw if in doubt of the log header being good when i was getting pilsburys base tune dialed in i offered pilsbury to trade him for the set i just made him for my stainless steel foward facing header set.
my 3.0 motor is using a log style header

You want 200 RWHP now, then you'll want 300, then 500.
I'm going through the same thing. Mustang makes close to 250 RWHP. A stock manual 99-04 GT will almost always put down 230 RWHP, and I've got the CAI, O/R X, SCT Livewire with Bama custom tunes on top of that, plus the aluminum driveshaft to free up a little bit of what is already there.
I'm already aiming for the 400 RWHP mark. I wanted a truck, but my new plan is to buy a cheap VW Jetta diesel as a new daily driver. So I won't have to daily drive a car that'll make more power than a stock C6 Z06 if I run it at 10 PSI.
This is all good news for the IROC. Because it simply means I'll have to eventually build a forged 383 stroker for it, to top the Mustang. It's some personal motivation.
This is what probably 240 or so RWHP is like when you have an empty, straight road, so you'd still enjoy 200. Pretty damn quick, but unfortunately still slow.

SCT Livewire tuner for some reason won't display anything more than 128 MPH. I pulled to close to 140, and still had some left.
Project89, that's a neat looking setup. Sort of makes me want a 6.

Re: log style single turbo header
You could grab a front manifold off an old fwd 3.1 and reweld the flange upside down like I did so you can run it under the existing alternator bracket.

Re: log style single turbo header
I want to go ultra cheap with driver side manifold but the setup with the driver side header is more of what I'm looking for what's the price for a setup like you posted with the driver side header?

Re: log style single turbo header
i bought a 2.8 out of a 83, of course its carbed, and im wanting to rebuild it, put some performance parts in it, cam, light weight crank, maybe bore it over, and just strengthen it so it will handle my turbo, with the intake manifold off the 87 2.8 just bolt right up to the 83? or should i stop what im doing an find a different motor?

Re: log style single turbo header
the intake will bolt on but the carbed motors have small valve head and small journal cranks. do urself a favor and get a 3.4 to replace it with , though u will neede to buy a 2.8/3.1 intake harness and ecm to go with it
