How do I get the dipstick tube out of my motor? Please don't say that there's a nut inside the oil pan... I've never had to chance a dipstick tube before, and I just thought that they twisted out. But I tried to take the one out of my 3.4 block to put in the 2.8 one (I tried the 3.4 first, since I'm throwing it away, I can screw it up.), and it won't twist! Unless I can just use my 2.8 dipstick in the 3.4 tube? Dunno. Seems to me that since I changed the oil pans, I need to change dipsticks, right? Help?!

There's a flange near the top of the dipstick that gets bolted between the engine and other part... maybe the exhaust manifold?
What was the difference between the pans?

Yeah. I've got the thing unbolted.... but where it passes through the block is what I'm talking about. I've tried turning it with some vise grips, and it just kinda crushed it (oops...).
