I've gotta 40 series with my 2.8. It is LOUD. Nice deep rumble at idle and a little more. Upper RPM sounds like it has a rattle in it, but I'll live with it.

Is the 40 series louder than those stupid ***** mufflers. Because I want my car loud but not so loud it will get annoying or in trouble with the cops!

funny cause i called jeggs and they said the 40 series muffler wont fit and told me to get the delta flow muffler w/ dual tips. I wanted the 40 series cause its louder. If u have the 40 series what part # is it and where did u get it. Hows the 80 series sound when in idle and when your flooring it and finally how does the delta flow sound compared to the 40 and 80 series.

I have a 3.1 firebird with the 80 series flows on it. It sounds gr888 at idle. But at high revs you cant get rid of that high pitched sound called a V6. But I love it. At 1600 rpm is when you get the best sound out of it. Best $85 spent. Bought it at Discount auto parts. those bastards didn't give me my flowmaster stickers though, that's something I need. But I put 2 3 1/2" chrome tips at the ends of my pipes and they look phat as my car sounds. I've fixing to get those removed and go strait chrome pipes, a mechanic a work told me that you get a deeper sound when you get 3 1/2" strait pipes so I'ma get that done.

It's louder than most and it doesn't sound like a rolling fart, as some ricers do. It may get annoying to you because it has a high interior resonance that varies with RPM. I haven't got in trouble with any cops yet, in fact, my dad is a cop. He doesn't care. I got it from summit, and i'll get the part # when I get home this evening. I'm at college right now. Check back later.

The moment you've all been waiting for...
for the 2.5" inlet/dual 2.5"out, it's part #FLO-42583. That'll run you $72.95. For a 3" inlet/dual 2.5" outs, it's FLO-43083. It's $79.50. www.summitracing.com or 1-800-230-3030. You get free ground service shipping or 2 day air for $9. Since you are in New York vortech305, delivery will be in 1-2 days anyway, so don't waste money, that is, unless you are in the northeast corner of New York. That is bareley out of range. Hope that helped.

Well' I really don't have a "system". At first, I just replaced the muffler with the 40 series and new stock tail pipes since they were in bad shape. Later, I had to replace the intermediate pipe. I COMPLETELY blew a chance to upgrade to 3" and get a total Flowmaster system (except the cat, which hasn't been replaced yet ) The loudest would be the 3" system. BTW, the price listed is muffler ONLY, not system. If I think of anything more I'll let you know. Anyone else feel free to correct me on anything. I feel like I'm forgetting to say something

Why a single out? Why not keep the stock dual? The prices I have listed are for the camaro and firebird single in/dual out crossflow style? Just a personal preference, but I like the dual.

It sounds very nice at idle-3 or 4,000. I don't have a tach, so I am just guessing. For me, above that, I get kind of a rattling sound and boy is it loud (the muffler, not the rattiling).
