Counts in my book. Years ago, I owned an Austin Healey sprite (non bug eyed). I would have loved to have done your swap. By the way, dig your hood prop. Post up some more pics. Nice job.
Have been going back and forth about doing an ls swap...$$$$ is what is holding me back. I put nearly 50k miles on this from 1999-2002. Now it's been sitting for 17 years and just got it back a couple of months ago. I've been going through the forums reading and reading. I really want to put a battery in it and see if it even fires.

Found a 1989 bright red V6 Camaro today. Too wet to get to it due to a few days of endless rain. Will pick it up next week. It is auto trans, no t-top car with manual windows. I’m guessing it is a RS and wondering If it is a rare combo. Anyone have this option combo?
The VIN should tell you whether it is a RS or not. I have a 86 Sport coupe V6 automatic with wind down windows. Replaced just about everything you can think of body, motor, brakes, ignition, you name it, I most likely had to replace it. Recently the motor was not performing well, so I added a can of Red Line Fuel Injection cleaner and filled the gas tank up with Shell gas. What a difference it made. Would highly recommend doing that to your engine. If you have Chevron gas and chevron tech fuel injector cleaner that will also work as well.
Thanks for the info. It appears GM does not break down production numbers for hard tops and t-top cars. My LS swap ‘89 has no t-tops and crank windows also. I’m going to try and get this v6 engine running. It hasn’t run in several years. If it’s toast, I have a late 90’s vortec 305 and third gen serpentine set up I will swap in with carb intake for simplicity.
I'm still here with my turbo 3.4 '85 bird. Now rebuilt because i ran it too lean and touched some ring lands. just got her back together and about to install some crane full roller rockers.
I'm here also. I have a 2.8 that is in the middle of a gasket refresh and mild hand porting, or more like removing the factory head defects around the valve guides and bowl blend.
Trying to get my 2.8 back on the road after two years of sitting. Fuel pump pressure is way low. Hopefully that is all that's needed. I use to get in the low to mid 30s for mpg and 41 on the interstate. Re-freshed the fuel in the tank, but it ran like crap due to the low fuel pressure. So now. Drain the radiator and get that pump replaced. In January on the driveway? What a chore!
85 2.8 mfi here though she won't be for long due to mine sadly giving its last clunk be on the v8 board after that but ill come back when I pick up another v6 3rd gen!
My 86 Firebird is a 2.8L V6. I've owned it since new. Getting hard to find some parts like an OEM style radiator with the fill neck on the drivers side. Any leads?

I got my old one which was brand new but like i said my v6 took its last clunk so i swapped to v8 dm me for photos wouldn't mind getting rid of it since its just taking space in my garage at the moment also this one hasn't had an overheat like the one before it
i tried that myself for me none of the part stores had one except oriellys but they had to ship it to my location and they lost it so i dont expect much from anyone with our cars lol
