Well, as it turns out I am not selling the RS. My sister bought my Grand Am off me (she needed a car bad), and I was off to find the new toy

The second I saw it, I KNEW I had to get it...a '97 30th Anniversary Z28. For those of you who may not know what one is, that's the white one with the Hugger Orange stripes, with white 5 spoke wheels, and white leather seats. Yes, it is COMPLETELY pimpin', absolutely gorgeous and FAST as hell.

The thing that amazes me though is the gas mileage. My first tank was better than the best tank ever with the RS...26 MPG. Can anyone explain why the hell 2.8's get mileage so out of whack with their EPA ratings?? Why is that the Z, rated at 17 and 26, gets 3-4 MPG better than the RS rated at 19 and 27. And yes, I drive them both the same...smooth starts, not going over 3 grand except on a rare occasion, and a fair amount of open road driving. So what gives???

I dunno what's up with the v6 milage.. mine was crappy as hell until this past week.. for some odd reason this tank is consuming all of nothing.. 3 days of normal driving that usually sucks 3/8 of a tank sucked not quite 1/8.. The only thing I can link to it is this is the first tank of 87 octane I've put in in a long while.. 92 up until 2 months ago, then 89.. but this tank is just going on *forever*

Well personally in my V6 I get close to 24 MPG(280-290) in the city and over 32(320-350) on short highway, clear open highway running I get closer to 430 some od miles to the 12 gallon tank. Then again on clear highway I also run over 80 MPH....

Yeah it is not that bad...it helps when making the close to 1000 mile trip between my home town of carbondale Illinois to Va Beach Va when I was in the navy....The trip is supposed (supposed) to take 12 hours roughly...I typically did it after the 1st of 6 trips in 9 1/2...What can I say after Va there are no troppers untill Illinois and even then they do not care as long as you are under 90....So between Va and Il I do 90-100...damn gov. won't let me go over 115 so...
