Transmission: 700R4
It's like any engine; it depends on how much you shave off. Boring is just meant to be a cleanup operation, not one to get HP. If you bore a block out to it's max, and then in 2 years need to rebuild it- you can't bore it anymore to clean up the cylinders... and you'd be shopping for another engine to buy. If you only go 0.010" overbore every time, you can get (I think) 3 rebores (total) out of it.
