Which fuse to pull to reset comp???
I replaced the vac hoses and the cylinder thing above the egr valve the other day and I'd rather not unplug the batt seing as I have 24 chanels programmed in my stereo. I was pulling a code 33,34,54 33/34 are maf sensor related which could have something to do with what i replaced the maf is new so it shouldn't be that and one of the vac hoses were broken on the cylinder thing. SO please help

There is an ECM fuse in the fuse box. Get a diagram of your fuse box and pull that fuse.

CHEAT AND BE SMART.
Disconnect battry for 1/2 hour. BOTH TERMINALS
reconnect, start drive. You should be worried about the car, not the radio.
Rebuild hoses by 5/16" windshield wiper hose, new hoses and electrical tape to take up any extra slack in the new hose. Especially the one at the distriubutor base on the intake.

On my '86, the fuel pump fuse (on the upper frame rail, on the passenger side, with red & orange wires going to it) also supplies the ECM with power. However, I don't know if there are any other power wires for "memory" for the ECM.

The ecm fuse is a joke. The actual power lead to the ecm comes from the fuel pump fuse (The one Tom mentioned) '85-89 (don't have diagrams on me so can't confirm 90-92). This is true for both v6 MPFI and v8 TPI. Pulling this fuse has cleared every '85-89 Fbody ECM I've worked with.

MSD coil, Accel 8mm wires, SplitFire plugs, Gabriel hijackers, possible performance chip I don't know about.. gotta crack open the ECM and check sometime

Yay!
I do know that with the ECM IGN fuse out, the car just cranks, and won't start. I sometimes pull it if I'm in an area where I'm worried about my car.

Kyle, they can always move a fuse from one slot to another. Be aware of that thought.

Ok.. finally got a chance to glance at my diagrams.. I was wrong, the ECM fuse isn't a joke. It does power the ECM in run, bulb test, and start. It has nothing to do with the memory though. The fuel pump fuse also does power the ECM at all times (it's the memory lead), but also, with the fuel pump fuse out, it will totally disable the ECM (SES light fails to come on at any point, thus ECM not functioning).. besides that it disables the fuel pump and the MAF.. car isn't gonna start under any conditions. Good place to wire in a kill switch (if you want to reset your ECM every time you park anyway)

Like I suggested earlier,
disconnect the battery. It's so much easier!
Thieves pulling switching fuses?
I just read something in Car Craft. They got their stolen project car back.
They were reporting about one guy who took the time to remove the rotor from his cap. Yet, his car was stolen. While he was speaking to the guard, etc. someone walks over to complain, how someone took the rotor from their car and he couldn't drive away.
From one that knows all to well (I had my car stolen, I had 2 anti-theft divices on it). I did recover my car, too.
It was my 1967 Camaro RS/SS convertible 4-speed.
That's one big reason why I love my Firebird. It looks like $hit with the wrong painted nose & primer fender. Perfect for LA
