Now the damn thing won't even start!!!
Ok.... most of you know about my recent troubles with this 2.8->3.4 swap. Well, I thought it was the catalytic converter that was keeping it so sluggish. So, I went out this morning, and basically cut & beat the damn thing off with the help of a grinder and a 5lb. sledge hammer. Held it up in the air, and guess what? I can see right through it! It's clean as a whistle! So, that's not the problem. Well, I go to start it up to move it back to it's parking spot in the driveway, and it just cranks and cranks and cranks. Maybe two or three times it sounded like it wanted to catch. This makes no sense!
Here's exactly what happened this morning:
I started it up, pulled it out of the driveway (it stalled about 3 times in that 10ft. or so) went up the street with it to the floor at about 5-10mph, came back, let off the gas to go in the driveway, and it stalled again. Started it up, basically nuetral dropped it to get it the rest of the way up the driveway, and parked it. Then I took the converter off, and went to start it up, and it didn't.
So what happened in that half hour or so?
Let me go into a little more detail, since I'm now thinking it might be something with the fuel delivery.
The car sat for almost a year (since last June) before doing this swap. Maybe it's got some sediment in the tank & lines? And, I didn't (I know... retard move) clean the fuel rail, or the regulator.
This is getting frustrating.... I'm about this close ->|..| to going and putting a down payment on a 2001 Camaro SS... heh... right. Like I could afford that on $100 a week.
