When making a custom air intake.........

are there any certain materials that can give you that swirling air sucking sound better than another. For instance using actual mandrel bent exhaust pipe opposed to PVC piping from Home Depot.
What would work best?

Im actualy planing on redin my intake for the 3rd time i hate the nose mounted air itake you guys should feel how hot that thing gets consideig its sitting right on top of the radiator. When i do redo it im going to go to a exhaust shop and use exhast pipe i figure it cools down better then plastic and it wil be smoother inside

I used the mandrel-bent exhaust tubing (3" Hooker Header's J-bend, cut in half to make a tight 90 degree bend). I used the pipe instead of PVC because the PVC wasn't connecting up "gracefully" for me to the MAF and throttle body hose. The exhaust pipe isn't that thick and made my life easier. If only I painted it... it's a bit rusty

Go to that link and see my conical setup.... Very simple to make, sounds good and looks good. All you need is 1 17'' of straight PVC anda 3 1/2 inch conical filter. I am lucky cause I relocated my battery to the trunk, but my buddy put his where is Charcoal canister is and moved that to underneath of where it is.. He needed a longer section of PVC.
