VSS code 24
Once in a while I will get a code 24 when my camaro is in motion. It signifies that my vehicle speed sensor is malfuntioning. I believe it is just a bad wiring connection because sometimes my speedo works, sometimes it will bounce around, and sometimes it will not work at all. Anyone know how I can fix this?

The speedo acts up? Hm. Electronic speedo's weren't around in '87, were they? Check the tailshaft of your tranny on the driver's side. See if you have a speedometer cable or a bunch of wires exiting the back. (Note that you'll have a 3-wire connector on the driver's side above the tranny pan; that's the TCC connector... look further back on the tailshaft, by the driveshaft).
If you have a cable (and I think you do), then maybe the cable is worn out. The VSS on cable-driven speedo's is located on the back of the speedometer itself! It's a yellow box that you can see with the top of the dash off. Anyway if the speedometer bounces, it's not being caused by the VSS, it's caused by the cable; and I guess the computer's sensing the burp in the VSS signal.
Unless of course your '87 has the electronic speedo, meaning the VSS is in the tailshaft of the tranny...
Anyone else?
