Phone up Edelbrock and ask them why they do not make them.

Between 12-1pm PST, they are closed.

I tried and wrote them a letter, never heard a response back.
Edelbrock would win (they make money), we would win, we get headers!

whoa whoa whoa... wait a sec... no one makes -any- headers for our cars? So we're just stuck with stock manifolds?

Are there any bolt on's out there (on other cars/trucks/SUVs that we can use that are better than stock?

It is.
It not EPA Smog Legal, that's all. MOST 60* headers "fit."
I'm hoping Edelbrock will make them for us smog legal.
Maybe I'll write Hedman, convincve them to take the money.
These 3rd gens are the most affordable, highest demanded car, right now, available at Kmart prices!
Who has Hedmans address?

In 1990, they were probably still being made... fastforward to 2001, and they're long gone.

Check out my thread about Matt King and Car Craft magazine.
There is hope.
They need a car for a month to make headers?
Who?
I'll let them use mine after I smog it.

Actually Brian & I both bought them off of Ebay at the same time. I did have them until I sold them cause it would of cost me over $500 to get them installed & then make a custom Y-pipe, coat the headers, & then install new exhaust piping. I said forget it & sold them off. The ones that Brian has are not smog legal but if you don't live in CA then it really doesn't matter cause the other states aren't smog **** like my state.

Gosh that was back in December. They were the Hooker Competition headers. The big deal for me was that I live in CA & for me to run around w/ them on, I have to have them smog legal which meant punching a hole in one of the primaries & making a mount for the EGR or bring on out from the collector which would of been more hassle than whatz it worth.

My dad and I are installing them June 25th and we have a guy who will make me a new y-pipe for 80 bucks. I chose not to coat them now and instead used VHT engine paint. I figure when I need a new exhasut I will get it all coated and done right, but for now I will leave them VHT painted. Also, Florida is not emmission crazy, but all you need t odo is weld the egr on so it really is not that big a deal....
