weird sound
My 91 3.1 liter started making this sound the other day. it sounds like a serpentine belt noise but it only happens when i make a left turn and usually quits if i turn right. however now it will sometimes continue even after turning right. I cannot tell where the noise is coming from. anyone else have this problem?

Squeel? Some times sounds like your doing a front-wheel-drive burn out?

Re: weird sound
the pump itself or could the steering gear do that? I figured maybe the pump but the fluid is clean and the pulley turns smooth and straight, and it still powers the turn so I'm not positive

Re: weird sound
Couldn't say without hearing it in person, I would know the sound, but its hard to describe, generally if its a belt or pulley it will be a kind of high pitched squeeling, if its a bearing in an accessory its usually high pitched sound like metal grating on metal, if its the steering box, kind of sounds like gears grinding or something with like an electric dinge to it, like the noise hydraulics make sort of, or something, best I can describe it.
