Uh, you sure you mean '95??? '95 already had a 3.4...
I have a 3.4 in my 1985.
That works out great for me.
It's so strong it took out my tranny!!
And it's only stock!!

The 3.8 started in '95... '93-'94 had the only years of an f-body 3.4.

Also remember that the 3.8 is a 90* block where as the 3.1 and 3.4 are 60* block. What that means to you is that unless you change transmissions also (bolt patterns), you will only be able to upgrade to the 3.4

Quoted from the 1995 Pontiac Model year full line brochure.
From the engine chart:
3.4
3.8* (Available midyear, with automatic and air conditioning)
5.7
FYI - my 3.4 has 160 HP @ 4600 RPM & 200 Foot Pound of Torque @ 3600 RPM.
Tonight, I sat in my FIRST 1995 Firebird V-8 Convertible.
It is SO LIGHT YEARS FAR AWAY REMOVED from the dash/interior of my 1968 Firebird and my 1967/68 Camaros & the 1985 Firebird.
The new F-4 cars (this 95 Firebird) are really great buys.
This one was $13,500 w/70,000 miles on it.
Anyone want the phone number?

What do you want to spend and what do you want to run is what it comes down too.. A nice small blaock 400 and a 6 speed will kill imports, but set ya back almost 5G, but it would be worth it. You can bore, blueprint, cam, and NOS your 3.1 and have fun anda good mileage car too... Let us know how much ya got to blow..
