More air=more HP

go to the K&N website and they have an intake for us that gives us anywhere up to 26hp gain...www.knfilters.com/kits/htm is the site....also clifford performance specializes in 6=8...www.cliffordperformance.com

Its not for Third Gens, and it wouldn't give a V6 26 HP if they did make it.

Some of us a well aware of Clifford Performance and they do cater to V6's but this is where the similarity ends. Their FAQ say it all:

<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">
Does Clifford Performance sell products for V6 or V8 engines?
No. Clifford Performance's niche is in the inline 4 and 6 cylinder engines
</font>

Yeah; I called them back in '94, looking for headers for my car. Actually, Summit Racing gave me their #. They told me the same things; that they didn't work with V6's, had nothing for f-bodies, and heard the 2.8 headers weren't made anymore. (sigh)

umm to all that go to add up the "advertised" HP gain...Remember that they post V8 Numbers...Unless it's V6 specific... Just FYI...

hell, that would be nice to see a 26hp gain just for dropping in their filter.

and remember, it's often times not just V8 numbers, but super performance, souped up v8 numbers as well... if it says it's a 350 v8, it's probably a 350 v8 with headers, dual 3 inch pipes, single plane manifold, with a 800cfm deamon carb on it, and no emessions equipment whatsoever. be careful what you read and what you get. I mean, does a K&N filter give you 20hp, well, maybe if you mate it to porting the plenum, upgrading the throttle body, and adding a complete cold/ram air system to the car, and also boosting the fuel pressure, well then, yeah, 20hp could probably happen, but not by dropping in a 1million mile filter.

They work well, but they are not gold.. If you are keeping the car for a few years it is cheaper than buying one every 4-6 months in the end.

The dream of a a quick HP gain from modifying the airfilter or intake (not including plenum or TB) is an old one. After completely FUBARing my intake, it only resulted in frustration, and no perceptible gains AT ALL. Now, granted that w/ exhaust and major intake modification a new filter may be needed. But by itself I believe I can safely say it will be useless.

For longevity, yes get a K&N, but dont get it expecting it to give you Viper beating power.

Just my experience

i got one of those invisifilters from B.S racing.com, its this new invisible filter you put in and it flows 100% more air, dirt and bugs than your puny K&N and it says it gives you 43.65% more HP, its got a 2 mile warranty or as long as your car runs guarantee that comes with it, it was such an incredible deal i bought seven of em!! Hurry everybody, jump on the bandwagon!
