I was driving my firebird, when the seatbelt light flashed, then everything went dead. The only things that work are the dome light, horn, and the headlights turn on but don't flip up. Everything else is dead. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

my v6 stayed dead for 8 months for no apparent reasons then all of a sudden when we replaced the fuel filter the other day it just cranked right up like it had never missed a beat. ???? see if that might be your problem.

Start with the basics. Try jumping it or check the battery with a voltmeter. Check your fuses.

Try tightening the battery cables and checking the grounds. Sometimes they are on just enough for the acc. to run but not enough for engine parts. My mom's Buick does that sometimes. My Bird sometimes won't start for the same reason.

Just a thought

Well thanks to everyone who tried to help me. I broke down and had my car towed to the shop. When I find out what went wrong I'll post it.
