Re: Questions 2.8 V6 89 Camaro 0-60, top speed
0-60 should be about 9-10 seconds, 1/4 mile in about 17, top speed, probably about 110, but might get up to 120 if its ungoverned. The v6 3rd gens aren't particularly fast without boost, nitrous or aluminum heads. They are great cars to drive though, and better poised in the corners than the v8 ones. 3x00(later model aluminum fwd) heads will turn one into the car it should've been from the factory, honestly don't know why GM gave the fbody v6 the crap heads, while the fwd cars got the good ones...

I know for a fact they run 17s stock 1/4, my 0-60 could be off a smidge, but I'm assuming the data I found on a berlinetta was a v6 car, and its 0-60 was in the 9 range I believe, granted berlies are heavier than base maros and birds.
But at any rate, without heavy mods or a v8 swap it won't be all that quick, like I said though they are quite fun to drive, though mine is also modded so mine is quicker than most of the v6 ones, not so many people bother to modify them.

trans matters, if you got a T5 n run it all out you get up to speed quick with that low 1st.

Mine with a slipping trans did 0-60 in 12, I ran out of gear at 110, and ran a 17.9. I haven't been back since new trans and tires.

With the T5 manual, 0-60 8.9 and up with some good tires, with the Auto, maybe 9.5 and up. Great daily drivers.

See my reply in the other thread with the same question... The LB8 is the only combo I haven't personally verified has a speed limiter. So I suppose it's possible, however unlikely it may seem.
