The fastest of the SLOW
The fastest of the SLOW
Of all you V6 owners, who on this board has the fastest N/A V-6 (no power adder)???
I just want to satisfy my curiosity.
If you have a power adder, post it too, but post NA times as well.
BTW...I want 1/4 mile times and trap speeds. NO "my V-6 went 165mph!!"

HErmmm this is the guy i lit up in the exhuast section, that post was locked, now i am wondering if he wants to get posts rolling on the V6 side... Welp i will bite, i built a 3.1L V6 in a 1991 firebird to run 14.9 NA, it had a 90 shot which took it to 13.89. Sorry i do not remember the trap speeds - but it was in the 90's. I no longer have the car it was sold however i do have a ford maverick grabber with a V8 that runs um...... a tad bit faster NA - GRIN.....

Good idea Ovrclck. But, typical of the V8, "I'm better than you because I have two more cylinders", notice the title of the topic. "Fastest of the SLOW". You know what? I had a bad day at work, and Red91 already said he's caused problems on another board, so I'll be the one to say it. Bite me, A$$!
No, we'll probably never get our cars to run as fast as yours. And I can tell you have a bias towards us V6 guys. So, you know (or think)we couldn't compete with you. Then why do you care what we're running? It doesn't matter. We're all F-Body owners. Ever seen a V6 guy go up to a V8 guy and say, "Your car sucks. It doesn't get 25mpg like mine." No, you don't. V6 guys are the first ones to go up to a V8 guy and say, "Nice car man. I like the way you did this, and how you added that." Yet, for some reason, V8 guys just walk past the V8 guys, chuckling, going, "Look at that ***** *** motor. He doesn't even have HALF the cubes I do." Why is that? WE ALL OWN THE SAME CARS! That's the common bond! Get along with one another!
It's almost as irritating as the ricers that rev on Z28's and T/As and then say, "Well, I guess you did win, you've got a V8."

"Fastest of the SLOW"?!? What, Mike L, are you some kind of loser? Are you here to show us how cool you are? LOL! Get real. Hey, I bet you'd win "A-hole of the 5.7 IROC's"! In fact, I nominate you!
By the way, your 13.98 sucks compared to other cars I've heard of. You should get a big block- your little 13.98 Mouse ain't cuttin' it. Hey, isn't a 13.98 technically a 14? It might as well be.
(laughs) Where do we find these guys?

Whats your point 5.7? I bet most of the V6 owners are students or kids that don't have the V8 for one reason or another.I am. I am student and I love f-bodies, so I take my car and make it as fast as I can. Because I love cars and the innovation that having a 6 brings. Anyone can buy enough parts spend enough money and time to make a V8 fast, but for the DIY kids who come up with original ideas are the real car lovers. I would love to build the fastest V8 streetable, but right now im working on my 6. Our times are probably slower than yours, they should be you should be embarrest if you started out with more ponies stock and a 6 beat you. But I bet our cars keep improving to be faster over stock way more than an 8.

Never thought I'd say this, but guys...quit raggin on the V8 guy.
LOL.
Seriously, a 13.98? That's pretty slow....I had my 350 Blazer running a 12.3 on motor before I sold it. Yah, it had a lil work done to it, but still, if I pulled up next to you w/ my 2.8 tags on it, and my quiet exhaust, you'd have laughed till I smoked you.
Yes, most of us own a V6. My reason? Insurance is cheaper, and I'm working my way through college. Plus, when you can get a 92 for $750, then that's always good no matter what size engine. I've put about $3000 into it for appearance, and if so inclined, i could spend my upcoming 6K to build a sweet 383 Miniram setup, but my lil 6 is fine for me.
I'm going to leave this open, JUST IN CASE anyone has a faster time than David, but I doubt anyone does.

Always the big guys picking on someone they know they can beat. What? Have no *****? Lost to every V8 on the board? Have to beat someone, don't you big guy?! At 13.98, I'm pretty sure you have problems beating most of the ricers around town with that! You want a race? Race a turbo trans-am. They have a 6. Stock they might run faster than YOU! Unless you have some way that can make our 6's faster, stay off the board and go lose to all the other 8's on the board! How old are you kid? 15 or 16? We don't need some knucklehead thinking he's all bad by flaming on our V6's! Heck, I've met some guys with fiero's, yeah fiero's, that could woop on you with their little 6! Leave us alone!

LOL... oh my, and i thought i was the only one in the exhuast section that lit this punks **** up.... I was just going off on him as the it was a question that started the whole thing. I don't see where he said he runs 13.98 but i am tired and prolly missed it. Ok, i need to add my two cents before it is locked and i am feeling really pointed at this hour of the morning..... BUT before i do, it will be a very pointed slap up side the head to the GM family in general, but its not directed to anyone in the V6 board OR any V8 guy that accepts the fact we all can't be V8 owners and loves the car for what it IS not what is HAS..... Ok so here we go.... I would REALLY like to see ya come down this way and spout off about v6's and what they can and can not run. I got afew friends that would bust a nut to run ya, i am hoping you can run DEEP into the 11's. But then again we are not comparing V6 to V8 are we? fine, i got a whole cheet load of friends that would love to bust by ya at WELL over 125mph in the 1/4 running high tens and very low 11's. Oh thats in a mustang - is that ok? dude - 13's and 12's are POOR in comparison when you speak of a V8 - a true engine builder can take and run LOW 11's and mid 10's in todays world. I admit it, i am a GM and ford lover, but i am seeing more and more COMMON place mustangs and fords running low 11's and mid to high 10's, i see the V8 board sigs here and i see very few 11's, more 12's ALOT of 13's. But do we care how fast we are? no, does it impress us to pick on something thats not as fast and NOT IN THE SAME CLASS? notice how the sig says "yes its fast enough"? care to find out how fast it is? i will give ya TWO clues... its 2900 pounds STOCK wieght, and it holds a V8 motor... If i choose to goto a fiberglass hood and fenders i will be in the 2750'ish pound range... Now notice how i don't hold it over any of these guys heads? i have MORE class then that. I am prolly was one of the fastest V6 people on this board to date - did i hold it in a sig? did i laugh at anyone for not being as fast? will i always be the fastest? NO!!! Its people that push the envelope and discover new and improved ways that make the engine faster, the car better... if it wasn't you my friend would not be driving a F-body NOR would you have a V8 in it. It's people like that that you should prolly take lessons from - you MIGHT just learn afew things. As far as coming over here and asking The fastest of the slow? That was just asking for trouble and it would not surprise me if a moderator doesn't cancel your account for it - what did ya expect? a cold beer and popcorn? So tell us, how fast is the mighty V8? with those mods and your vast knowledge of engines i hope to god its into the low low 12's N/A. Bt again i would expect you not to accept this whole game we call cars is for the car, not for what it can do, i expect you to think a 13.98 in a 189cid engine is not possible and/or not fast enough for Mr. high and mighty... Ok, i am done as i know overclocked is screaming leave the poor V8 guy alone.... I do want to make it quite clear - NOT all V8 owners are bad people, its the loser few that have a complex that give the rest a bad name in ANYONES circle of friends and/or class of motor. So don't EVEN think about calling your friends over from the V8 secton and say we are bashing the V8 guys. You started it in the exhuast section, we will finish it here - get you frigging head outta your *** <---- yes the south end of a north bound horse.... <---- that was to make it perfectly clear to the moron....
Ahhhhh i feel better now.... nite all
