Its been a while

but while i was gone the 183k mile engine finally went... right after i passed the smog test too! If money permits, im going to sell this and look for a GN, TTA, or a 91-92 Z28 convertible.. i thought of a newer 4thgen but ill stick with older vehicles!

That sucks ....are you gonna sell it whole or part it out?
If you part it out, i need a flywheel cover, an electronic VSS, and a slave cylinder/clutch MC assembly.....let me know.

I believe the bass drum is 20", it went to a jazz set. I still have the origional heads on it. It's in really good condition.

Okay, on my 2.8 the smog pump, do i need it? I want to get rid of it considering that my air tubes had been cut off and sealed when i got the car. I'm talking about the ones on the exhaust manifold. the only air tube i have is going from the cat to a air exchanger, I guess thats what it is. Can I get rid of that too?

IF YOU DO NOT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT SMOG, YOU CAN REMOVE ANYTHING YA WANT!
I did this on my S-10 Blazer, just the engine and carb.
I did save the parts, for my smog test in two years.

if you look at my sig, next to the air cleaner id that big air thing, I can get rid of that 100% right? I'm getting chrome valve cover and I don't want the engine to look like crap when I get the covers. Leaving the air thing on defeat the perpose of having chrome cover.

NOW that my Firebird runs, I'd be happy to go anywhere to say hi!
My favorite is still Bob's Big Boy in Burbank.
Wild cruise night!
I know Cruiser Carwash, too. Liked it back in the late 90's with the Rock and Roll band showing up & performing.

Fiream, since you're going chrome, here's an article that Snflupigus wrote for the TBI guys... it's on adapting an open-element air cleaner to a TBI car. Since TBI is basically a gutted carb, you can probably use this article... you might get more power from a dual-snorkel intake (from the old V8 H.O. carb'd f-bodies), though.

Open Element Article: http://snflupigus.tripod.com/step1.htm

Making the H.O. dual-snorkel: https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/t...lsnorkel.shtml

But yeah, if you ditch the smog pump, you don't need that check valve BS; just cap off any vacuum lines. I don't remember if there are any or not. Someone on the carburetor board might be able to give you more detailed instructions...
