I've done a few homemade AFPR's now, the Lb9, L98, LH0 and the 2.8 all use the same fuel pressure regulator.

HOLD on you are talking about the 2.8/3.1 right. I know the 305 TBI only has like 14-15 PSI running the fuel system.

Would 21 lbs/hr be over kill for out little v6's? Well, it might be more suitable for you Graeme, but what about for us that just how external mods?

the poundage really does not matter because the pulse is controlled by the comp.(this goes to turbo info so bear with it) thats why a 875cc or roughly 45Lb injector can get 30 plus MPG with low boost pressures but as the boost goes up and the intake leans the pulse is longer to compensate.

ok thats a little confusing. The poudage makes no difference as long as there is enough fuel delivered to keep the mix normal and not lean. The amount of fuel is controlled by a pulse thats sent by the comp. When we go to WOT(snaping the throttle/flooring it from dead stop) we get VERY lean, thats why no go. Upping the poundage richens that up a little and then the fuel is maintained throughout the rpm range and load conditions.

Yea cuz I remember someone telling me on this board that getting bigger injectors is like putting a quad barrel carb on a stock 305. See what I'm saying? But if the injectors will work on our cars, what kind of improvments should we see? (Sorry for all the questions, it's just that I haven't done anything to my car for awhile cuz I've been looking for another mod that'll get me somemore power.) Thanks!

I was running 3.4L injectors on my 3.1 and it was so rich the car wouldn't idle, much less make any power. For reference my 3.1 has a cat delete pipe, and modded airbox, nothing else. I got alot more power when I went back to stock 3.1 injectors even though they're in bad shape.

When I did the swap, I used the 1995 issued 3.4 injctors. They have a shower pattern, not a pintle style.
NO DOWN SIDE AT ALL & I PASSED CA EMISSION PERFECLY.
My story.
No problems.
I can't offer an answer for your instance, Drew.

I think Drew used Lumina Z34 injectors. I know the FWD has some head/intake differences, maybe this is why they didnt work well.

The "Multec" was the other style, instead of our pintle injectors; and I think that's what all the front wheel drive cars got. I didn't know a Multec injector would fit in place of our Bosch pintle-style... did you have to mod the fuel rail, Karl?

The injectors I used were from a Z34. They're the same style injector as the stock 3.1 injectors. The earlier 2.8 injectors are a little different but they're interchangable. I might give the 3.4 injectors another try as my 3.1 injectors are crapped, but I'd rather sell them. They're practically new, a buddy of mine had em in his Z34 for a very short time.

In my instance, they fit perfectly.
NO adaptation necessay, just went right in.
Fit is identical to the 1985 style. Mine from a 1995 F-Body car, the ones I got on my 95 3.4 F-Body engine. I was suggested to upgrade to those during my asking for this engine swap.

You could always zip 'em off to Rich Jensen, at http://www.cruzinperformance.com for a flowtesting and cleaning. I did that with my spare set of 2.8 injectors; it made one helluva difference in the car.

Hey; could that be a reason why improvements are felt with these higher-flow injectors- simply because they're clean?
