Yea, ya need a heat gun.
I used one to "fix"/mod my stock box top lid.
For the first time ever, I may have to clean that filter!!!I got more air flowing in!!!!.

Just trying to help anyway I can...is the end facing the stock airbox a hard or soft plastic (if you cup your hands around it, and press, does it bend alot?). If it's the same as it was on my tpi job, the oval end has a hose clamp on it. This keeps the plastic from being any bigger and keeps its shape. Simply take the clamp off (of course go buy a new one that's circular from the store) and put the circular one on the plastic tubing. Use some wd40 or something slick to slide the pipe (pvc or metal) into the plastic tubing. VERY tight fit, but take that clamp and tighten it. If you use pvc, the pvc might melt back to the oval shape...but if you use metal it should hold its shape. Hope this helps.

well a soft malet for metal working one side at a time and test fitting after every series of massages... PVC easy a painters heat gun 12 bucks. another way to get the metal to form is with a tail pipe expander with several of the slides removed.

I might be talking about something different, but if not.....I just used a rubber coupler with hose clamps on each end which you can pick up at any home depot speed shop for a few bucks. One end can connect to the oval TB while the other end can remain round to connect with whatever else you have.
